Some Questions for You About Marty McGuire Chapter 3

We just read chapter three in Marty McGuire and we have some questions for you. Would you have brought the frog back to your house?  Were you surprised when the frog didn't die when it hit the wall? We were.

We look forward to hearing your answers to our questions.

  1. At our school, there are lots of pets in the library. We do have aquatic frogs that were raised from eggs. They are about 2 years old now. We can't release them outside since they are not native to Vermont, our state. So, we probably would have brought the frog to our school for a while.

We didn't like the idea of throwing the frog. It's not nice.

  2. Hi Ms. Lirenman's Class! I asked my class a question similar to your first one - "would you have tried to catch the frog even though there was a chance you'd get wet?" 15 of them said no way they would not want to fall in the pond and 4 said yes they'd tried to catch the frog.

  3. Hi Ms. L's class.
We did a survey to see who would bring the frog back to our house. 4 friends said they would and 15 friends said they wouldn't bring the frog back.
Some friends were surprised that the frog didn't die, but other friends were not.

We were wondering why the princess threw the frog instead of kissing it.

  4. I would not bring the frog back to my house because my house would get mucky water on the floor and I would have to clean it up. I was surprised to because it was weird how the frog could survive the pain when it hit the wall.
How could you handle the frog at your house?

  6. I would of not brought it home because I could of fell in or it would of been so slippery that it will run away. I was surprised that she threw it against the wall because it would of been too light to stay alive.

  7. Good afternoon Ms.L's class!
We are a Grade 3 class from Sarnia, ON and are also reading Marty McGuire.
We saw your class tweet and thought we would share our ideas and thoughts with you!
As a class we had mixed ideas if we would bring the frog home with us or not. Some said yes and others said no.
Some of us were surprised and others were not surprised that the frog didn't die when it hit the wall.
Bella said, "I was not surprised when the frog hit the wall because it's a fairy tale. In fairy tale's, anything can happen!". Hudson had a different opinion and said, "I was surprised when the frog didn't died and it should have not turned into a prince!". Overall, our class was half and half in terms of being surprised/not being surprised.

Thanks for inviting us to join your discussion! Hopefully we can send out some questions for you to respond to next time!

    1. We will answer your questions too if we know about them. Sometimes it takes us a bit longer though to get to them.
